The Story Behind BENIR
Nayan Hirji Patel
Founder, BENIR Foundation
Nayan Hirji Patel was born in Bhachau village in the Kutch district of Gujarat. He completed his primary education at Jain International Boarding School in Bengaluru, graduated from King’s College in London, and later completed his Master’s degree from Imperial University in London.
He is involved in multiple businesses, including a mineral water company operating under the brand name Bailey. Deeply concerned about the growing water crisis in cities like Bengaluru and Chennai, he was inspired by the work of his father, Shri Hirji Naran Patel, who successfully renovated 18 ponds in their village between 2017 and 2029.
Inspired by this initiative, Nayan Hirji Patel founded BENIR Foundation with a mission to restore ponds and create sustainable water ecosystems across South India.
